The coil 'cover' is what carries voltage from the coils to the spark plugs... I have had a lot of problems with this part!... It can be removed and visually inspected for any burnt spots or discoloration along the voltage grids... This is not always the case but I have more trouble out of this part than the coils themselves... **This is just another area to check into!** Below is the NAPA part; Ignition Coil Housing Cover $ 46.99 /ea Part Number: ICA101SB Product Line: Mileage Plus Electrical IMPORTANT INFO: Cover
Search out RepairPal for some good shops in your area. These coil packs go bad and need to be replaced but we need more info before we just replace a part. A misfire can be caused from spark, fuel and compression and you need all three for the engine to run correctly.
Thanks for your valuable reply, if i change only Part Number: ICA101SB is it ok & shacking will stop?? i don't need to change part: ACDelco D1975F GM. Can you please suggest me any good mechanic. Thanks a lot.
I cannot help you here!!... As stated, that part is not always the cause of a misfire! It was a suggestion as to another possibility for your trouble and one I see quite frequently!!!... I can not say if it is the trouble or not!... BTW.... There are (2) coil 'packs' on this engine, not (4) coils! Good luck with the fix!
Can please send me the suggestions & guidance to my personal mail id vijuureddy@gmail.com Thanks
Find someone that can check this out for you... It is easily tested to find out what the problem is!!.. The complete coil assembly does NOT have to be purchased, it is made up of different componets... Anyone can tell you just to replace this or that and may do so.. Without testing it usually leads to unnecessary parts installation!.. Ask around for a reputable local shop!
