Do you have to take the whole motor apart to replace the lifters on a 98 Chevy Lumina?

Strongly recommend purchasing / borrowing a repair manual and review the procedure before attempting any diy repair - if that’s what you have in mind. Just for example the 3.1L push rod lengths are different - intake / exhaust and are easily inserted in wrong positions. Good luck with it!
