My A/C began to blow warm air and the temp gauge dropped then rose rapidly as I lost steering. Pulled over and had car towed.
Goodyear says crank shaft tie broke. 500$ to fix. Say they can't tell what else is wrong till they fix that. I'll ask about belts. Thanks.
Suspect the crankshaft 'harmonic balancer' is the culprit .. That's what drives the belt and is fairly common for this part to fail .. *Strongly* suggest getting another (INDEPENDENT) shop to give you a price on the repairs!!
