Sounds like a power steering issue. Your power steering pump will make a groaning noise when low in fluid, full of air in the fluid, or when the pump itself has internal wear. Have a trusted repair facility check the power steering system for low fluid level first. If it's low, it could be leaking - add fluid to check for a leak, and see if the noise lessens. If the system is full of fluid, an internal pump issue is possible. Click here to find repair facilities near you! http://repairpal.com/chevrolet-within-10-miles-of-machesney-park-illinois-61115
I appreciate your message back, I actually thought that's what it may be also I will check the power steering fluid tomorrow does the car have to be running to check power steering? Also if by chance something is wrong what does this usually cost to fix, I am so tired of getting ripped off. Usually I had my father go with me to get things looked at but he passed away last year, so I scared to go alone. Greatly appreciate it your quick response also. LeAnn
