My car was recently towed now my check engine light is on. How do I turn it off.

take it to Autozone and have them read the code and print it out for you,it's free,then post code or codes here.the light does not come on for no reason.the computer has sensed a problem somewhere.you can clear it with an OBDll code reader or unhook the negative battery terminal for 15 minutes and reconnect it.YES,it will go out,BUT,if there is a problem,then it will just come right back on!
