When your gas pump nozzle keeps kicking off as you try to fill the tank, it is likely that there is a ventilation restriction in your fuel filler system, or evaporative emissions system. This system typically serves to control the escape of fuel vapors into the atmosphere. If the ventilation system is restricted or closed in some way when it should not be, it can be exceptionally difficult for the tank to displace the air when filling the fuel. First, try a few different filling stations, as some stations may be more sensitive to filling your Impala than others. Beyond that, seek professional guidance to have the filling system / evaporative system checked out.
