I take my car in every 3 months for the past 7 years and they check it change the oil ,tell me what needs to be done I do it,never have I had anything with transmission done that i know of ..I was driving down the highway two days after I picked up my car and it stopped accelerating I was lucky enough to be able to coast off road and the car would go in reverse, but not forward..they have had the car for 4 days and told me tonight the transmission is shot are there no warning signs?
Not always. Going into reverse and not drive is a good one. You want to keep it serviced just like you know the engine needs service. Should have started 30,000 miles ago. Some people say it's not necessary but a transmission mans transmission will last a lot longer for some reason. No brained. When you have an issue with something it is usually a sign.
I have never had an issue with the transmission, actually no issues until this happened. It was going in reverse the day this happened but only revving engine if I tried to go forward..I took my car to my dealer for service every 3 months I would expect them to be checking all points on my a car including transmission
Well when you have young kids called lube tech's servicing your car, do you think they just do what they're told to do. Transmission go out in less then 30,000 miles as well, but they are under the manf warranty. Sometimes you have to be the boss and tell them what you want done.
