Makes the rubbing noise intermittently when wheel is turned hard left. You can feel it in the steering wheel when it does it. Never had it until around 50K miles. Seems to do it more in colder weather. Had the same issue on my 2006 Silverado. Dealer did something covered under warranty on the 2006. Any idea of what this is? My warranty expired on this at 36K.

With noises we would really have to drive the car and inspect it to know. Common issues are wheel bearing failures (hub bearing), loose or damaged inner fender touching the tire when turning, or the backing plate contacting the rotor.
Yes stock tire size. The feeling you have in the steering wheel, and the noise makes you think this is coming from the steering column. It doesn't seem to do in when the air temperature is 40 or above. It is nothing like snow/ice build up since I live in the desert. It is not a wheel bearing or brake type noise. But it is a metallic type of noise...like dry bearings in the steering column if there was such a thing,
