What is your question?
Before I remove the steering wheel, I wanted a professional opinion on if the turn signal "shut off" is in the clock spring or in the turn signal switch itself? Currently my Equinox is over 50k miles and out of warranty. The dealer is not being helpful unless I pay the $130 diagnostic fee. I realize that the turn signal assembly itself may be able to be replaced without removing the steering wheel and would like to avoid that if at all possible.
How long has your 2018 Chevrolet Equinox had this problem?
several weeks

Exploratory surgery required - possible broken cancel tab on the switch - OR - the clock spring.. Remove switch for inspection - since it occurs in both directions I’m thinking *switch* .. The switch can be removed without steering wheel removal ... (I’m assuming the 2018 is the same) Good luck!
Thanks! I was actually pondering it more today and thought the same thing. I will report back once I remove the switch and check.

Found the issue. In the switch housing, there is a very thin metal spring that pushes the turn signal release "button" out and provides the necessary tension to keep it out when activated. Somehow, this wire had popped out of place. I was able to re-seat it, and now everything is working as intended. Thanks for the insight!
Good deal .... Kudos to ya !
