What is your question?
I parked my 2011 chevy equinox in my new garage and found a puddle that was black as tar had a weird oil smell but felt like there was some water with it, not having luck with dealership they say it's nothing. They don't see any problem. Had the car in for oil consumption issues 2 months after getting it.

Well it's not unusual at all for condensation mixed with 'black' carbon deposits to be expelled from the 'weep hole' in the muffler and out of the tail pipe upon engine start after an extended park period - long enough for engine to cool back down .. ALL vehicles with internal combustion engines will exhibit this normal reaction from time to time! Location of the substance under the vehicle is a clue... IF it's in proximity of the muffler or tail pipe - that's just normal operation... Suspect it's just more conspicuous now since it's being parked in a "new garage" as opposed to being parked outside.. 'Short trips' will make this more pronounced as the water (condensation) inside the exhaust system doesn't have time to evaporate as it would after 'extended' driving periods. I'm kinda surprised the dealers personnel didn't elaborate more clearly.
It's in the area under the engine, their response is wait and see if it keeps up. A year ago it was oil consumption issues, my equinox would sputter and jerk like it was going to die out ( even when driving it) they fixed that, only after my husband went in cuz they gave me a hard time. So I worry it'll happen again.
