Heater not working but engine temp is good

What is your question?

Engine temp normal. Heater blowing out cold air and for just a sec smell coolant. Have a leaking seal but it hasn't effected the heat before because we keep plenty of antifreeze in it.

What makes this problem better or worse?

Excelleration of the car or higher rpm makes a very slight difference and only for a few minutes.

How long has your 2012 Chevrolet Cruze had this problem?

Just under a week.
