Replaced brakes.2 days later the trac off light came on and won't shift out of first. Took battery cable off to reset and light went off and it shifts. Next day drove then parked for 8hrs and trac light back on and won't shift again

MOST LIKELY WHEEL SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL DROPPING OUT NEEDS TO BE MONITERED WITH SCAN TOOL TO FIND WHICH ONE POSSIBLE WIRING TO ONE WAS DAMAGED WHEN REPLACING BRAKES
Most likely suspect > Antilock Brake System 'Wheel Speed Sensor' reading erratic .. Possibly damaged during recent brake work... Easily tested and confirmed using proper scanner with ABS live data.
