2. Here is a much better idea if sound is all your after. Replace your mufflers with a pair of flow masters or magna flow mufflers. This way you don't comprimise the emission control system and you get a much better sound than just removing the cats. Just removing the cats doesn't give you a louder or better sound anyway so it would be a waste of time as well. Alex

see other answer. if you take it to a muffler shop in Texas even if your County does not have emissions testing required, and ask them to cut your cats off,they wouldn't do it.here in my County in NC,emissions testing only on 96 and newer,only safety checks on 95 and older,BUT depending on where you take it,most will raise it on a lift to make sure the cat(s) are still in tact,and depending on who you know,they don't check anything on 95 and older!
