WHAT SIZE MOTOR AND WHICH HEAD? V8 COULD COST AROUND 1400.00
With the machine shop costs, 12hrs of labor and the gasket sets you're looking at a $1745.00 bill if it's just blown headgaskets.
I'm actually buying this car from someone and he mentioned the repair costs are only $200, which I'm very suspicious of. He said the headgaskets aren't broken and that the car was drivable, just that on the 'cylinder head' a bolt was broken. Is a 'cylinder head' different from a 'headgasket' and what's the difference in costs for replacing the 'cylinder head'?
Headgasket (2X) is between the block and cylinder head. If a head bolt broke, you would most likely have to remove the head... Make him show you the broken bolt by removing the valve cover.
How much would it cost to repair that then?
It's a V6. I thought it'll be much cheaper than repairing a broken head gasket?
