how do i replace a lost key

ok, let me re-phrase that, how do you program a blank replacement key -chip when you have lost the ignition key

OK , let me rephrase my answer! Not a clue , I'm a Honda idiot , hopefully one of the GM guys will see this and help , or if it does actually require a scanner to program , a locksmith would still be cheaper than a dealer , I'm sure. Sorry not much help.
