What is your question?
Yea got a diagnostic test on my blazer and it said something about the 5th cylinder not firing. What do I need to get to fix and what is going to be the price.
If cylinder 5 is the only one with a misfire then spark/fuel testing is a good place to start. Air conditioning is a huge draw on your (and all) mechanical and electrical systems. You want to make sure you're keeping your maintenance up on the ignition system, and that the ac components are working normally. Meaning no excessive effort needed to operate by your vehicle.
Thank you. Yes I checked all fuel and oil and mateness. I didn't use the air conditioning because it would make a weird noise it got turned on again and the noise wouldn't go away .every other time it got turned on it would sound normal. Yes only cylinder 5 is not firing. How long can I drive without a cylinder firing or will I blow the engine.
A misfire can cause severe problems if left unchecked. Pushrod is right, we use purchased and operate the actual GM testing equipment, it should be corrected to prevent bigger problems. Don't guess, don't throw parts, it's not worth it. Get it diagnosed and repaired, have the ac noise checked out as well, the ac gets expensive very quickly after failures occur.
I was told I needed a coil pack. Now that was without getting it looked at. It started from turning the air conditioning on. Then it would stull. Have any idea what a coil pack would cost. Thanks for the information.
There is only one ignition coil on the 4.3L engine that services all 6 cylinders equally .. Therefore that can't be the problem! .. I could post a list of the possibilities but that doesn't help .. When I get this type of problem in at the shop the first thing I do is a FULL scan test with a high dollar scanner which includes cylinder misfire counter .. Then I proceed with applicable testing to prove what is causing the misfire so repairs can commence... That's just the best route to take instead of guessing at it. https://repairpal.com/repair-shops
