Hi I cannot get my 1999 Chevy Blazer the start up, it will crank but no start. Ive replaced the distributor, ignition coil, air control module, still not starting. Any advice? I'm getting spark. Ive had it scanned and nothing is reading a problem picking obdii scanner.
How long has your 1999 Chevrolet Blazer had this problem?
FUEL PRESSURE TEST be tested easily with test gauge kit - available for rent at auto parts store .. ANYTHING LESS than 55 psi - the engine WILL NOT operate!
Just so ya know - Before I retired - I had a contact with an electrical company for all service and repairs on a fleet of S-10’s with same engine - needless to say I’ve had some experience with em.. I think you’re going to find inadequate fuel delivery - pressure testing will confirm.
I finally got the fuel pump in the mail and now I got the fuel filter as well I'm about to put that on all. I'll let you know how it goes fingers crossed!
It's wanting to start but it's not turning over completely maybe if we had starter fluid it would start any suggestions? I wish I could post a video here
⚠️ First - Fuel pressure MUST BE at least 55 psi.⚠️
You may have fuel fouled the spark plugs - hold gas pedal to floor while cranking engine.
Re-check plug wire firing order..
Distributor MUST BE PLACED IN ENGINE *EXACTLY* as old one came out - rotor pointed in exact same position - engine must not have been rotated!
IF you have the distributor set any other way - engine ain’t going to run - period.
Number one cylinder doesn’t fire at the point where the number one plug wire goes on the cap.
The pin down inside of the distributor needed to be straight because it was not lined up and once we straightened it it fired right up! Used a long screw driver to reach down in there. Thank you so much for the advice!
It should be ready to ride... Timing is not adjustable - it’s ECM controlled.
Now - IF you’re a tooth off on the distributor - the check engine light will turn on.
Kudos to ya - not many DIYer’s can pull this task off !
We had dropped the distributor in and anytime we had it in any other position the Blazer would not even start is there any way that the blinking service engine soon light could be due to another problem or is it just one tooth off in the distributor? It was also smells like the oil is being burned and its running rich

Suspect distributor timing is off one tooth .. It has got to be EXACTLY right!
Notice when you are lowering distributor into engine it turns - you must allow for this... I think the video covers that part as well.
I got a reading at AutoZone the error codes read cylinder 1 misfire detected IC circuit high voltage and cylinder 1 misfire detected I'm going to get some spark plugs and hopefully that wi'll be it. I just realized it smelt like it was running rich because of too much starter fluid and it was burning that off. I'll let you know the results.
I had a misfire and the new spark plug fixed that. Now the check engine light just stays on. Everything in it is tuned up and fixed, any idea why that would still be on?
RepairPal Certified shops can diagnose and repair your 1999 Chevrolet Blazer. They provide transparent pricing with a minimum 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty on repairs and services.
Test port (schrader valve) for test gauge connection is located near distributor. TEST FUEL PRESSURE !
I am doing that today thank you for the information I will update you and let you know how it works

👍🏼
After dropping in the distributor and getting the car running is there anything we have to do with the timing before were able to run it?
