What do i do to figure out why my windshield wipers. don't work

Circuit board on the wiper motors gave a bunch of trouble around that year.... can buy just that part.... Also, make sure the wiper motor itself is grounded... have seen them loose their ground circuit. ... Any of this make sense to you??
