Neck for radiator

What is your question?

I just had the neck replaced for my radiator and when I went to pick it up they are now saying I need to put it back in the shop for some timing belt going out. They said it could cost between 400 and 800 dollars and the only people that can do it would be the dealership. I bought it used like 2 years ago and it had less than 90,000 miles on it it now has over 142,000 miles on it. I know it needs to be done but I just wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem or if I just need to get rid of the car and get something else.
