If I'm translating properly.....you mean 'when I put the gear selector lever in drive there is no response from the transmission. Is there possibly a different feel than what it used to be , from the lever , like it's not hooked up to anything?
Gear shift problem. Happened to me 3 times. Take it to a dealership for Chevrolet and they will replace it. If under warranty, it will be covered. If not, it will cost you over $300.00
Agree with ziptie. Also to be stuck in park and have to use the key to unlock the shifter, you must apply your brake to shift, so check above your brake pedal. I believe its electronic, perhaps a soloniod, faulty connection/switch. Now, I read what you said again, did you in fact mean you can shift into any gear but the car stays in park? Then its gotta be a physical connection, not electronic. correct me if im wrong but aren't these cars cable shift?
Hello Sherry: You will have to take your car to your dealership and have them replace the gear shift. I had a 2004 Chevrolet Aveo and the gear shift failed 2 times before I got it replaced for the 3rd time. Then I sold the car in 2013. I would advise you to take your car to your dealership.
Hello: That is not the case. The gear shift is not physical, but it is part of the Engine when you shift from Park to Reverse to Drive. My old Aveo, the gear shift died on it 3 times before I got it replaced for the 3rd time that held up until I got it sold in 2013. What you said to Sherry is definitely NOT TRUE. You have to take your car to your Chevrolet/GM dealership and to get the gear shift fixed. If you are still under warranty, then it will not cost you anything. However, if you are passed your warranty, then you will have to pay at least $300-$500 depending on which gear shift they decide to put into your vehicle. Also, on the gear shift itself, on the platform that the gear shift sits on, there is a little hole that you can put your key in and then press on the gear shift button at the top of the gear shift handle at the same time you have the key in that hole. Then you can put your car in REVERSE or into Drive from there. Once it is in Drive, then the gear shift will work for a while until it gets stuck again. Also if you have emergency keys for the vehicle, be sure to have them next to you when this happens, and then you will be out of the stuck position for a while, until you get your car to your dealership.
