What is your question?
The code according to the Tech's at auto zone said I needed to replace the o2 sensor, bank 1 sensor 1. I have done this 2 times and they cannot clear the code. My truck is still getting terrible gas mileage and doesn't seem to have the same power it had before this problem. I also changed the spark plugs on bank 1. What is going on what am I missing?

Autozone has NO Tech's...they have parts sellers. which one on which side did you replace?
First let me say thank-you for your reply and I totally agree about them being part sellers but I was trying to be ah..... polite. I changed the left (driver side) sensor upstream of the catalytic convertor.
i know, but they just throw em in there without the training they need..they have went to a different code reader that is a little better than what they had.although,it is not really accurate.it still gives you possible causes, and what you changed is one of them.you could have a vacuum leak somewhere or other, also if you're buying the bosch sensor, your vehicle may not like it! really, the only way to be sure without guessing, driving you crazy, throwing more parts at it, is to have a mechanic with a scan tool with live data to hook up to your vehicle.
Thank-you for confirming what I had suspected. My mechanical background is in industrial maintenance and part changers not being able to troubleshoot and find the actual problem has always irritated me to no end. I built my first engine a 327 - 300 hp in a 65 Chevrolet Impala SS 4 speed in 1973 - 74 as I earned the money to buy the high performance parts to put in the motor and the suspension. It was the first motor I saw the parts inside an engine, I was 16. I have done all my own repairs and performance modifications since well until the cars/trucks became so complicated you needed all these high tech diagnostic tools beyond the old reliable Sun diagnostic testing equipment. I didn't mean to ramble on but again thank you for confirming I need to just take it to a garage or dealership and for the suggestion to check for a vacuum leak. Thanks again!!!!
and you're exactly right!!! the 70's done been here and gone..if the engines were still the same now as then,no problems like the new technology engines/computers have advanced very fast and sometimes hard to diagnose the root of the problem..but most still guess at things and wind up with a ton of money in parts in their vehicles and the problem is still there...good luck with yours!
I haven't had a chance to look for the vacuum leak but I will do that in the morning. Thanks again for your time and advice. It's awesome that you take the time to help someone like me with limited knowledge of the new systems in the later model vehicles. Thank you for all your help and all you do it is very much appreciated. Thanks again! Kudzu08
you're welcome! i hope you do have a vacuum hose leak and not something more serious or expensive, because that vacuum hose is cheap..i have a 16 year old Ford Truck..one night several years ago,the engine light came on..i was right in front of the ZONE when it came on and it was running BAD.so i pulled right in..went and ask zoner people to read the code for me,and they did.there were 9 codes? well i looked around, listened for vacuum leaks, could not hear any.i ran my hand around the hose for the pcv valve, but it is covered with foam insulation.i cut the insulation back a few inches and the hose that went to the pcv valve was like mushy, split and sucked flat.it was 3 or 4 inches long.i go inside and they had bout $450.00 worth of sensors pulled and said, here's what you need,it will fix you right up?i got mad, went to my truck to get my gun, cause i'm gonna hurt me one of them zoners! NAW,not really.i told one of them to go get me a piece of 3/8 fuel or emissions hose out of their scrap box,Yeap i want it free! put it on,cleared the codes, running like it was before that crappy hose went stupid on me! ok,i'm glad i didn't have to get long winded on this one. keep us posted..gotta run,it's 4 am..waiting on those dummies to come back to the house that put those TRUMP signs up in my yard,i got em a reward>>some salt,ROCK SALT>> 12 ga!!!
Good for you, just be careful please we need you, sounds self centered but true! You have helped me more than you realize. BTW the Trump folks could use some good seasoning!!! LOL!!!
