After starting engine and put into gear the RPM's go up and check engine light comes on

What is your question?

When I start the engine it ideals fine put it in gear and give little bit of gas the RPM'S GO UP AND service engine soon light comes on. When TURN ENGINE back off and restart the engine the idle in back to normal.

Key words = “service engine soon light comes on” .. Professional scan test required! Not just for trouble codes - so so live engine data parameters can be observed - this testing is invaluable. Most repair facilities will be equipped to do this testing even though it is an OBD1 operating system. Parts stores can not help. Good luck!

Any repair attempt otherwise is merely a guess! ..... Usually resulting in unnecessary parts procurement and installation labor.
