Not to familiar with 'hydro-boost' , but if that also regulates the power steering pressure , than it sounds possible. Can you tell if the pump is actually working?
WEELLLL.... The 'professional' way , would be with a pressure gauge and the appropriate adapters , but , uhm , I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't be asking that question if you had that stuff! All I can suggest for starters is to have someone in the vehicle and with it running , watch the reservoir and if pressure line is at a safe position , 'feel that for a change , while the steering wheel is being turned side-to-side. IF you have no fluid motion (swirling maybe)in reservoir (in my experience )other than fluid level maybe raising and lowering and you can't 'feel' the pressure line reacting at all(that I really don't know how else to explain) , then I would suspect the pump failed. Before you go buying a pump , reply and tell me what you do notice ,even (or especially) if it doesn't match my description , and maybe by then , one of the others here that do have hydro-boost experience will chime in (god for your sake I hope they do ! cause I'm startin to feel like a lost dog , being a 'Honda guy'(sorta)--NO ricer just OEM!!
ya the belts still on fluid is good and no not noisy at all. Someone mentioned brake pressure modulator valve is that possible?????thanks
