How likely is it to remove and replace the oil pan and then have the rear main leak excessively

More than likely poor oil pan to cylinder block sealing as opposed to a mysterious rear mail oil seal leak ... That is IF the actual leak was properly diagnosed to begin with (?) Maybe the rear seal is where oil was leaking instead of from the oil pan.. *Hands-on* inspection / evaluation will be required.
