What does the lighted P directly below the glove compartment switch mean?

I own a 2015 Cadillac CTS. There is a button to press on my dashboard which when pressed opens my glove compartment. Directly below this button is a letter P which lights up when I start the engine. Why is the P there and what does it do or mean?
