neither the button on the key or the button on the door will release the trunk. No "click".

Make sure you didn't accidentally press a valet button. That would lock you out. A lot of the time they are in the glove box or center console. Outside of that, you should have it looked at. There could be something obstructing the lid's ability to move or the latch's ability to release. Of course, there could be a mechanical or electrical issue. We would be happy to help you!
Hello, does the trunk have an actual key cylinder still? If so, does it open with your key? If there is no cylinder, then you'll have to have a diagnosis performed on the electric actuator that opens the trunk latch, or the latch itself. Good luck.
Hi, what you can do is go into the back seat and pull down the center section,(where cupholder/armrest falls down) this will give you a small access hole to the trunk, using a flashlight find the emergency open cord, it is a plastic handle, pull and it will open. If not I suggest you check the fuse for the automatic trunk which should be located under the back seats. Sincerely, CTS guy
