that makes no sense.you said your car will not crank? the fuel filter has nothing to do with the car cranking.you either have a crank no start condition or no crank no start condition.cranking means the starter is spinning the engine over.starting means the engine is running.
Either a battery or alternator.
we don't know...we all here are trying to help..read Unclephil71's reply! it's well worth checking out.
You might look under your battery and see if theres an orange or red wire with a back plug. I accidentaly knocked Mine loose and when i went to plug it in it broke from dryrot. I spliced it with a but connector and it turns out that that wire was the reason car would not start and would go dead when i was lucky enough to get it started. It was driving me crazy. On top of that the ignition switch visually in the on position was internally about a half inch off. It would crank but go dead when i let off the key until finally i started holding the key after it started and manually eased it back and held it in position to keep it running. But i agree with the other folks here. Have it looked at if You can afford it instead of wadting money on parts. I hope You find a broke wire under the battery like i did. It was making just enough connector on maybe two strands of wire to intermittently feed just enough voltage to keep it going. As soon as i fixed it the motor ran smooth and it idled lower. Good luck and i hipe this helps!
I mean my car will turn over but it seems I have to play with the ignition switch in order for it to catch then it will act like it want to crank but cut right back off seems like I'm not get any gas up there for it to stay crunk...and like I said I can get in there and turn my key to the on position and no dash lights but I have experience this before that when they do come on my car will crank so now u tell me wat u think it is...I tried cleaning the battery post
if your theft light is not on,which i don't think it is,i believe you have an ignition switch problem.
So what is it somebody said alternator now I'm hearing ignition switch ...no lights not coming on at all when I turn my key to on position
you would be surprised at what the ignition switch is for.key switch is around $200.00..ignition switch is around $60.00..alternator is around $120.00..battery is around $120.00...
I tried jump starting it from another vehicle....lights still didn't come on dash and it turns over but want crank...this just happen all of a sudden...the last time I driven it it was acting up the same but the dash lights was coming on when I put key in switch...I was riding and all of sudden my Air conditioning stop working because my compressor was not turning so then about a hour with my car just sitting at my house running all of sudden compressor kick back in so I think it's some kind of mechanical problem...my temperature and gas hand stuck but when the lights come on dash the hand drops back to were it suppose to be so what u think
you will need some hands on help with this.
All I need to no is wat part do I need to get to solve this problem I just don't want to spend money on parts I don't need so will u please tell me what u think the problem really is
instead of you throwing parts and money at it,i would get some hands on help with it! and start testing everything, otherwise you would just be guessing at it..
stevieray1 is absolutely right! Testing and diagnostics are necessary so you don't waste time and money throwing parts at it!
So if u had to guess wat would u say it is
