Been 18 years , but even back then , going by your brief description , my first suspicion would be the 'ignition control module' , mounted yes , in the distributor. Good luck. Might be worth while , after next time it stalls when warmed up , if you are able to , VERIFY loss of spark. IF you still have spark while cranking , suspect a fuel related issue. OORR someone else here (Pushrod/stevieray-won't drop names!!) that has WAAAY more recent GM experience than me , will respond!! good luck.
