The shift lock actuator is probably locked because it's showing reverse. Out on the transaxle under the breather is the shift switch. Look to see if it still has the cable end hooked to it, and maybe see it you can twist it into lock position.
It will be mounted to the transaxle. A black cable runs from the firewall, toward the center of the car, and up to the trans, hook into a mounting bracket, and the end of the cable is supposed to sit over a round pin on a lever the moves back and forth to change the gears in the trans. Sometimes the cable end comes off the round pin and will not shift the trans. Sometimes it breaks at the shifter under the console.
Sorry had my mind somewhere else, it will be on the left side of the transmission, and the plastic clip that holds the cable onto the pin breaks. If it breaks, the cable will have to be replaced, the plastic clip is not serviceable, sorry was taking a nap, not really.
The shifter wont move. We tried. It is stuck in park.

We will check in the morning. Thank you so much.

Is that for a vortec 6 cylinder?
