From what I have viewed and seen on the Net there are no like connections for back flushing a fuel filter on a GMC vehicle. Although there was a slide showing a truck fuel filter requiring the back flushing method. It's Christmas and parts houses are closed as they should be. I saw that installing a fuel filter backwards on our Le sabre could damage the fuel pump. I don't want to do that for obvious reasons but if I can hand back flush to clean out as much sediment as possible in the present fuel filter could I use the car for a day until I can get a new filter?
What makes this problem better or worse?
car won't start. tested starter motor and battery. fuel testing plunger atop the engine shows no fuel. ignition on can hear fuel pump.
How long has your 2003 Buick LeSabre had this problem?

if the starter motor is cranking the engine over but not starting,then no use to check the battery or starter,they're working. I see you live in the Queen. some years for the past 10 years,Autozone has opened one or more stores in about each City on Christmas Day. They take store managers from several stores that are on Salary,so they don't have to pay them for working(greedy and wrong). Filter should have been 1st thing to replace(cheap). If you can't find one of their stores open,then one more day won't hurt,according to your post,it's been sitting for a week already.
I agree with previous answer .. In addition - the fuel filter is not going to cause 0 fuel pressure. We'll need actual numbers in psi for fuel pressure TEST .. NO - black-flushing the fuel filter will not help - fuel filter replacement will never hurt!

I thought so! Got my belly full and ready for a nap - done got too old for all the hustle and bustle that comes with Christmas - kids all grown up now so it ain't the same.. Besides - it ought to be a week long deal anyway - too much to do in just one day.
