As I said the coil will not stay engaged on the AC compressor, it started doing it without any warning. Everything of interest in troubleshooting the problem has been done including pressure testing, replacing pres. switch, relay, fuses, control module on the dash, etc. I disconnected the battery and it did great for about two hours then started doing the same thing. It has my mechanic completely stumped.

THE CLUTCH COIL ITSELF MAY BE BAD AND NEED REPLACING. THIS IS SOMEWHAT COMMON ON GM VEH.
are you saying the clutch is engaging and disengaging at random? - Might be a non-oem clutch - Replace with a GM part to know for sure. I only say this because my Ford is now engaging and disengaging at random - only after being replaced with a non-oem part.
