What is your question?
Electrical components start shutting down while driving then car dies. Car starts again later. I noticed the voltage draws down several volts when shifted to reverse and or lights/ ac on. Had in reverse in driveway, turned on headlights and car went dead immediately, no electrical power to anything. Later after being in the house awhile, noticed headlights were back on and everything seemed normal.Installed new alternator yesterday, no help. Don't understand why electrical system would die then come back later. Any ideas?

*TEST* alternator output using volt meter - should be around 14 volts at battery terminals. Turn headlights and heater on - rev engine to 1,000 rpm - voltage reading at battery terminals should still be near 14 volts.
Until actual testing is performed - can’t possibly determine ‘what’ the failure is! Simply replacing the alternator doesn’t mean it is performing as it should.
Thanks, I've done that and all's good there. Have new alternator. What would cause complete power outage one moment then later on allow power to come back on? Battery /Alternator are good. Seems to occer after running awhile.
I’m thinking there are two *positive battery cables* - I’ve seen corrosion build up between these two cables and cause the symptoms you’re describing. That can cause this to happen ‘intermittently’ as well. Clean battery cables until they shine - then clean em again!
