Do you have to pull the steering wheel to replace an ignition switch not the lock cylinder but the ignition switch in a 91 Buick LeSabre or can you drop the column
What is your question?
I know for sure I have a bad ignition switch did all the testing and there is no doubt that that is the problem someone told me that I can remove the lower part of the dash and drop the column and have access to the switch which should be in the top of the column but everywhere I search on the internet says you have to pull the steering wheel so I'm wondering if anyone knows for sure I appreciate it thank you

Everybody thinks the ignition lock cylinder is the ignition switch - WRONG!
The ignition *SWITCH* is on the lower steering column .. No need to pull the steering wheel.
Thank you so much. No the lock cylinder is fine. It's the ignition switch itself. So lower, not upper. Thank you for that too!! Now I get to figure out how to take the lower dash out to get to the bolts to drop the column!!! Lol
