rear axle noise

What is your question?

when car is in drive mode, a winding noise is coming from the rear axle. as you speed up the noise gets louder and levels out at about sixty mph. starting out at low speeds the noise is very low. tires have been balance rotated and checked out ok.

Suspect wheel bearing.... Is it AWD?

front wheel only, with positive traction when turned on. low mileage for bad bearing's but, I think you are on to something that is correct.

Had hubs replaced in rear & new tires for all 4; now hear whining noise louder in rear area, not from tire area it gets louder when I apply the breaks to stop / like its whining down ? Any idea?
