The car has 223,000 miles on it and I have already replaced battery, water pump, and fuel pump.

if you point at (Get Your Car Fixed)at the top of this page,you will see get an estimate below that.click on that,put your info in the boxes,"sit down" before you click on the blue box(Get an Estimate)then the Price will come up,OR>go with an aftermarket reman at a parts house and it's $399.99 plus tax, plus your old one or a $62.00 CORE charge until you bring your old one back to em,and you install it yourself. i would call or go to several local,trusted,independent repair shops,for estimates also...your alternator will need to be tested on the car,the computer regulates the voltage,and to do this the battery MUST have a full charge on it or test will give a falde or bad reading.
