What is your question?
I had my 2003 BMW 325i transmission rebuilt at about 120,000 miles. 6 months later, I am getting a check engine light and transmission gear light on my dashboard. Codes are P0700 and P1700. Does this mean the TCM needs to be replaced? And if so, shouldn't this have been replaced when they charged me $3,000 to rebuild the transmission?
What makes this problem better or worse?
Its worse when the engine is hot and when the weather outside exceeds 100 degrees.
How long has your 2003 BMW 325i had this problem?
dashboard warning lights just appeared yesterday

IF there wasn’t a problem within the TCM then it wouldn’t have been replaced! The posted codes simply indicate a problem exists related to the transmission - return to facility that performed the rebuild for *hands-on* diagnosis.
