how to check oil in the transmition ?

Up on a lift -level , with engine running , small plug inside larger plug in trans pan? remove small plug and fill with PROPER fluid til it runs out..... ?

Are we talking about the 5speed standard transmission

unfortunately it has to be taken in for this to be looked at.
