battery been unhooked recently? what did the inspection station tell you to do? what monitor(s) are NOT ready?
Have you figured out the problem and repaired it yet?
shoot, good luck with that.been almost 2 months and they never even replied back to me.be nice to know to help others if they were to have the same or similar problem whether it be a BMW,Mercedes,F150,or a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle! i saw your question a little while ago.what did you have replaced,an evap/canister purge valve? i don't think that's what it said but i may be wrong?maybe you said crank case?also, how did you know to replace whatever it was you replaced, because i do remember you said the CEL Light was not on and monitors NOT set to ready. also, how many miles have you driven it since the work was done?
I had the crank case ventilation valve and the 4 hose that connect to the valve replaced. Probable driven about 250 miles after the valve was replaced. I had the car diagnosed for odbII not ready reading. I was informed the ventilation valve needed to be replaced. Still getting the odbII not ready reading. Eveything else on the obdII reader comes back fine?
Well,i assume you had an engine code for replacing that, but the way i understand is that the light is not on and the computer never was reset.so maybe your car thinks the old one is still on it,and may not ever set to READY!
The check engine light was never on and the odbII reader never gave any codes. Maybe there is something wrong with the oxygen sensor? But probably not because when I had the car inspected for odbII not ready they did not mention the oxygen senor needed to be replaced. Maybe the cars computer needs to be reset?
if no codes were ever present, then how/why/ who/what told you that the ventilation valve needed to be replaced? also, which monitor is showing not ready for inspection/smog test?
Make sure you have the cap on your 20pin connector under the hood. If it is there take the cap off and put it back on and make sure it is secure. you will not get any OBD readings without this cap in place. Go on ebay and buy an ELM 327 or a similar OBD reader for cheap to verify you are getting signal to the OBD port
