What is your question?
my TT is a really beautiful example of the 2 wheel drive 1.8 turbo model - it is going really well without any sign that the engine management system has put the car into safe mode (lower power etc)but this warning light is worrying me - it has been left without battery power for 8 weeks until 3 days ago whilst the alloy wheels were being refurbished - is there a simple reset that I can carry out myself or am I condemned to the local Audi dealer's diagnostic system with associated high costs?

What is the value of a job done right the first time with less risk? High expectations should also go along with the high price. JUST a thought.... Maybe a local shop can clear and 'reset' PCM?
Thanks for your thoughts - may have to bite the bullet and pay for the reset!!
HOPEFULLY , that's all it takes!
Hi All - well here's a solution that I found all by myself based upon some superficial knowledge of Bosch engine management systems on other makes of car: as I said in the first place I was fairly sure that I had upset the ecu by leaving the tt unused for over 2 months and that the fault was a false reading (any proper fault would have resulted in the epc light coming back on immediately after a re-set): the standard Bosch re-set requires that the battery is disconnected for at least 30 minutes, reconnected and the ignition key turned to the on position and left for 1 minute so that the ecu can re-configure: when the car was re-started there was no longer any epc warning alight - worth a try before you incur cost and spend considerable time and trouble on the VAG diagnostic system at your Audi garage!!
