smoke blowing engine rough

check engine light came on smoke blowing out and engine running very rough all of a sudden
What makes this problem better or worse?
when accelerating idles somewhat ok not much smoke

Ok - I’ll take a GUESS at it - blown head gasket.. Now - the only means of accurately determining the actual failure is via *hands-on* testing.
