Is there a way to reset the 'door ajar' sensor?

My passenger side door closes completely, but the sensor is indicating otherwise. I've taken it to a shop and they couldn't figure it out. Any suggestions?

If interior light is remaining on as well - Liberally spraying WD-40 into the door latch assembly to un-stick the door ajar switch should do the trick .. Close and open door a few times after spraying ..... WD-40 will not harm the vehicles finish in any way.
