i Put 2 cans of oil in engine then oil pressure warning came on so why won't my car start?

I checked the oil and it was low so I put 2 cans of oil in engine. The oil stick showed full. I drove 5 minutes when oil pressure warning light came on. I pulled over and cut off the car. Now it will only turn over, faster, but will not start. How do I find the problem and fix it? If I let it sit for a day will the oil pressure build up to start?
