What is your question?
I overheated once but I still smell steam. I can see steam coming from the radiator cap and area. It is a new cap. A pressure test was done and there is a leak but where?. No coolant on ground.nothing coming from head or anywhere and the gauge is normal.the amount of coolant I put in is very small if at all. After running the engine at idle for 30 minutes the bottom of radiator is cool to the touch and hot above the midline. Not sure if this is related but occasionally I hear a whine when I throttle up instead of normal engine growl. What's that? Thanks for any help David

It sounds to me that there is a restriction in the radiator. Will it get hot fast if you start driving it.
check at water pump housing and bottom of block for seepage from pump. Whine may be alt. or P/S ?
No- it has not gotten hot since the initial overheat. At least the gauge does not indicate that.
Is there bubbles in the radiator as it warms up, don't remove cap while at operating temp.
No bubbles just the usual dancing of jiggling liquid Occasionally instead of the typical engine Rev sounds i hear a whine-think that is related or yet another problem?
Another problem. Keep an eye on it and remember circumstances if it happens again. No bubbles prob no head gasket issue.
