Unknown black hose coming from tranny case/gearbox

The *vent hose* doesn’t connect to anything other that the transmission ‘vent tube’ - the other end is vented to atmosphere - and is mounted ‘high enough’ so water doesn’t enter the transmission. Commonly found on AWD / 4x4 vehicles. As stated - mechanic can quickly determine by ‘looking at the hose’ .. ▪️https://repairpal.com/repair-shops▪️
