What is your question?
I own an Acura rdx 2007 model. After doing some jobs I noticed an unattached black hose coming from the tranny case/gearbox, very close to the starter and slightly under the battery. One end goes into the tranny case/gearbox while the other end remains loose and unattached to any place. It's giving me reason to worry, cos I don't want my tranny/gearbox toasted. Please help me, I need to reconnect where the loosed end will be attached to.

It is very possible that it is a vent tube. But I would recommend having a local technician near you have a quick look to verify this.
More than likely it is the transmission VENT hose .. Should be mounted ABOVE the transmission case to prevent water intrusion.
The *vent hose* doesn’t connect to anything other that the transmission ‘vent tube’ - the other end is vented to atmosphere - and is mounted ‘high enough’ so water doesn’t enter the transmission. Commonly found on AWD / 4x4 vehicles. As stated - mechanic can quickly determine by ‘looking at the hose’ .. â–ªï¸https://repairpal.com/repair-shopsâ–ªï¸
Thank you very much I really really appreciate. I think it's what you said it is. Cos my mechanic saw it and said it's a vent, but I was too scared to believe him. For clarification purpose, here's a pic of the hose location https://1drv.ms/i/s!Ak-il_2OqlPNkeZBW4NsB6iZX3meHA, it's labelled No.4.
