What is your question?
Dealer says it is too expensive to replace and it isn't worth the cost to repair it.

Were you given a price , so you could decide on your own? They usually have a 'base' price for sending the units out for repair , which can then increase , depending on what they find as the cause of the failure. Just an example (I think worst case) , is it worth up to $2,000 , versus the problems you may have with an aftermarket unit?
Probably worth $1,000 but not any more. I have 105,000 miles on the vehicle and use my iPhone and Sirius for music and everything other than the CD works. The dealer didn't give a price but said he thought it would be more than $2,000 because of all the work they have to do labor wise.
I'm pretty sure it's not that much different than a Honda(no insult intended) , so , if they are quoting more than 2 hours labor , then you might want to get an estimate at the next closest dealer and see how they compare , if that's a possibility.
