the original pump was changed because it was making noise and foaming in reservoir. but power steering worked.my wife used non Honda p/s fluid to refill it.

The wrong part was replaced to start with, the foaming was caused by a leak Between the reservoir and pump (large hose) or most likely , a $2.00 o-ring that goes on the inlet fitting on the pump.I recommend flushing all the non honda/acura fluid out and replacing with honda/acura fluid as soon as possible , and check with your Acura dealer about an 'updated' reservoir.
Always use honda genuine power steering fluid as recommended Why if you use other products it will destroy internal on your steering system
