I bought mine used in 2004 from the dealer as an Acura Certified used car, with 52,000 miles on it. One day later the transmission stopped shifting into higher gears. The dealer replaced it. In 2009, the TQ rumbling started at the 40/45 mph mark, the dealer replaced the TQ fluid which eliminated the issue, however, gas mileage suffered by 10%. Now, in 2012, at 180k miles, the TQ is doing the same thing again.

How often have you had the fluid changed (ATF- Honda DRW1- fluid) There where also some software updates on later models and on yours , most likely the TCM (transmission control module) should have been changed WITH the trans , due to software /shift program issues. IF you change the fluid regularly(every 25-30K) then TCC (torque converter clutch) 'judder' should not be a serious problem. ALSO , IF any fluid other than Honda/Acura ATF has been used , or if the trans. has been flushed (machine type) then sell it. Soon. ..........JUST a personal note.........At a Honda dealership.........seen a fair share of these A/Ts with the 'judder' issue now past 200K on many, MOST owners HAVE noticed the 'judder' for over 50K , but have done the fluid changes and just keep going. The people I find most discontent ,are the ones who drive in a style , to purposely get it to act up, and no matter what anyone does , they will never be happy. ...ENJOY the ride!........
