Radiator was replaced, and haven't had heat since. Replaced the thermostat, checked the blend door actuator and it works, did a heater core flush because one hose is getting hotter than the other, and bled the coolant lines and radiator to release any air pockets. Still no heat. Heater core is not leaking, I don't smell antifreeze when I drive... is there ANYTHING else it could be before I call it and just have my dash ripped out to replace the heater core? I'm 8 and a half months pregnant and need heat for my baby whose due in December.
Heat was perfect before the radiator was replaced. The radiator was put in at the beginning of this past summer, so I can comfortably under 10,000 miles been driven since. I have AC and that still works fine. Both the radiator and tank are full now. Noticed right after install, the coolant cycled through the system very quickly, and the reservoir was empty in less than a month. After bleeding the radiator line just this past week, I noticed the tank was completely full, but the radiator itself was very low. Maybe a blockage between the tank and radiator? I filled the radiator, but still had no heat after. Also worth mentioning, the radiator was replaced because the Dex-cool antifreeze burned up in my engine and caused it to overheat. Per my mechanics recommendation, w replaced the radiator, flushed the coolant, and replaced it with Prestone Extended Life.
Suspect restricted heater core.... Thanks to Dex-Cool.!! .. I use compressed air and water from a rig I made @ the shop to flush heater cores... It works very well. Perhaps you could find a shop that has a similar tool.. Good luck with the flush, I really do hope that fixes the heat! .. There's not much else it can be on that vehicle with the 4.3L.. After engine reaches operating temp... 'Both' heater hoses should be hot enough to burn your hand... Same with the 'top' radiator hose.
