Replaced cam shaft sensor. Started car, let run for about 5 min. Shut off...20 min. Later went to leave, engine turns but won't start??? 2005 Buick Ranier V8 5.3 Stephanie

Check your cam sensor connection. If that is ok then scan the car for codes. The trouble code should point you in the right direction. If the sensor install is fine then you need to start over with diag. Hello, what was the original concern making you replace the camshaft sensor? If you are chasing a camshaft position sensor diagnostic trouble code, this code setting does not necessarily indicate a problem with the sensor. This could be a code that set as a result of the engine stalling for another reason. Conventional diagnostic testing needs to be performed in conjunction with checking for diagnostic trouble codes the vehicle may have. For example, if you have a fuel pump problem, which can show itself best when trying to restart a warm engine, it will not set any fuel specific codes. All is a guess until you use test equipment to find out what is happening during failure.
