Need to take out ignition cylinder but key won't turn to accessory

Be CERTAIN correct key is being used! Spray WD-40 into key slot - insert key - rap key sharply with small hammer a few times - be sure to hit key squarely and straight into key slot .. Try turning key - repeat if necessary.. It works!
